Preparations are well under way for Europe’s leading health IT event:some 570 exhibitors, 10,000 trade visitors and 350 speakers are expected to attend DMEA – Connecting Digital Health, including numerous political figures. This year’s keynote speakers are Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn and the Federal Chancellery's State Minister for Digital Affairs Dorothee Bär, both members of the German Bundestag. Dr. Gottfried Ludewig, head of the Digitalisation Department (Dept. 5) at the Federal Ministry of Health, will face questions from the industry at the ’eHealth Hot Seat’.
“I am absolutely committed and want to shape the digital transformation together with you“ were the words of Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn to his audience at the last conhIT, the predecessor of DMEA. Since then a number of draft bills, such as the Appointment Service and Supply Act (TSVG) have set the tone for the digital transformation in the healthcare system. It is for this reason that visitors are keenly awaiting Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn’s keynote speech at the opening of DMEA (Tuesday, 9 April, 1.30 - 2.30 p.m. _Stage A, Hall 1.2).
With the Federal Chancellery's State Minister for Digital Affairs Dorothee Bär, the organisers of DMEA have been able to secure a further keynote speaker on day two of the event and another supporter of digitalisation (Wednesday, 10 April, 4.45 - 5.15 p.m., _Stage A, Hall 1.2).
At the session entitled ’1st Year of the Medical Informatics Initiative: Results and Perspectives’, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) Christian Luft will hold a speech on ’Combining research and care – Ensuring innovation benefits people more rapidly’ (Thursday, 11. April, 1.15 - 2.45 p.m., _Stage A, Hall 1.2).
At the last conhIT Dr. Gottfried Ludewig had just been appointed head of the Digitalisation Department (Dept. 5) at the Federal Ministry of Health. At the new interactive eHealth Hot Seat event at DMEA 2019 he will be facing a variety of spontaneous questions from patients, doctors and nurses and representatives of business and science, which will be put to him by the audience and via Twitter and video messages (Tuesday, 9 April 2019, 3.45 - 4.45 p.m., _Box, Hall 1.2). About DMEA – Connecting Digital Health
DMEA represents a strategic evolution of that concept. Its aim is to mirror the entire digital supply chain including every process along the way. Step by step DMEA will expand into a platform representing every digital field of interest to all players in the healthcare system, both now and in the future. DMEA targets decision-makers in every healthcare sector – hospital managers, IT heads, doctors, nurses, healthcare policymakers and experts in science and research. As an integrated event combining a trade fair, congress, academy and networking events it gives participants an opportunity to find out about the latest digital healthcare developments and products, establish industry contacts and gain high-level qualifications.
DMEA is held by the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg) and organised by Messe Berlin. The following industry associations also contribute to the event: the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg), the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS), the German Medical Informatics Professional Association (BVMI). The National Association of Hospital IT Managers (KH-IT) and the Chief Information Officers of University Hospitals (CIO-UK) contribute to the subject matter. The three-day event takes place annually on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.
More information on products, topics, events and industry trends can be found by visiting the health IT homepage of bvitg Service GmbH, a subsidiary of the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg).
