From 21 to 23 April 2020 at DMEA – Connecting Digital Health in Berlin newcomers can find out about every aspect of digital healthcare

From the electronic patient file to innovative apps that will make us healthier – digitalisation in the healthcare system is moving forward at unprecedented speed. Ideal conditions for talented young people who want to take an active part in this transformation. Together, students, pupils and young professionals are once again being invited to visit DMEA from 21 to 23 April 2020 in Berlin.
The accompanying programme for newcomers at Europe’s largest event for digital health will give them an opportunity to find out more about the digital health industry, meet with experts and get information about careers. A special programme of workshops and lectures, including by business and science experts who have already forged successful industry careers, awaits them there. The programme is rounded off by trade fair tours, during which companies will present themselves and their latest products, as well as matchmaking sessions with prospective future employers. The best thing about it is: admission to DMEA is free for students and pupils. Presentation of a student ID is required.
Innovative ideas for digitalising the healthcare system
Another programme highlight is the annual presentation of the DMEA Newcomer Award which recognises the best Bachelor’s and Master’s degree theses. Bachelor’s and Master’s degree graduates of Medical Informatics, eHealth, Health IT, Health Management, Health Economics and Healthcare Management can apply. Prize money totalling up to EUR 2,000 awaits the winners. Candidates have until 24 Apr. 2020 to submit their entries at: www.dmea.de/en/Newcomers/NewcomerAward/
Career boost for specialists and decision-makers
In addition to the newcomers’ programme, DMEA is also hosting several events for those already in a career. They will find ideal conditions here for establishing new professional contacts and furthering their knowledge. The place for them to head at DMEA 2020 is the newly created exhibition and programme area under the heading ‘Focus: Careers’.

DMEA is Europe’s leading event for health IT which gathers decision-makers from every area of the healthcare sector – including IT specialists, physicians, hospital and nursing care executives as well as experts from politics, science and research. In 2019 a total of 11,000 trade visitors came to DMEA to find out about the latest developments and products, acquire qualifications and establish important industry contacts. DMEA 2020 will take place from 21 to 23 April 2020 in Berlin. Topics will include artificial intelligence, innovations in health IT and digitalisation of nursing care processes.
DMEA is held by the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg) and organised by Messe Berlin. DMEA is organised in cooperation with the following industry associations: the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg), the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS), the German Medical Informatics Professional Association (BVMI). The National Association of Hospital IT Managers (KH-IT) and the Chief Information Officers of University Hospitals (CIO-UK) provide contributions on the subject matter.
