Modern solutions preventing infections protect both patients and staff.

Seamless electronic communication between hospitals or other health care providers within upstream and downstream processes in patient care is the key to high-quality and economic patient care.

This entails ‘smarter care’, which is the smart usage of data for patients’ benefits based on standardized formats and semantics, which are understood across systems. In this regard, Cerner has not only already developed solutions, but also successfully implemented them in and outside of Europe. One example is the patient application m.Doc, which allows patients to record relevant health information prior to starting their treatment and visiting a clinic. The application also facilitates a personal therapy journal. Physicians and nursing staff can access this structured information both via i.s.h.med® and medico® upon first contact with their patient.

Cerner also offers smarter care solutions within individual hospitals, including smart applications such as nursing process management and patient charts. Cerner also offers a solution for the purpose of preventing infections and surveillance: IPSS. This solution collects and evaluates data from multiple sources, thereby contributing to determining infections at an early stage. In collaboration with Welch Allyn and Seca, Cerner has developed a solution for the recording of mobile vital signs which simplifies routine tasks, thereby helping to save time and prevent errors.

The display will include the clinical context coding application (ID CCC), in which the ID LOGIK® terminology server s uses free text analysis of medical documents to read out doctors’ reports or reports on operations in order to achieve the most effective coding. Even abbreviations or misspellings, as well as grammatical errors, can be identified and correctly processed.

ID has a long history of active involvement in the field of pharmacotherapeutic safety. Chancellor Merkel visited the Siemens Healthineers digital twin exhibit at the 2018 Digital Summit

Since the end of the 1990s, Siemens Healthineers has been engaged in R&D in the field of artificial intelligence, and already has more than 50 AI-assisted solutions on the market. It also has more than 400 patents in machine learning, including 75 in deep learning. These activities are supported by numerous regional supercomputing data centers.

At DMEA, Siemens Healthineers will present the digital twin of the human heart, which was one of just three official exhibits at the 2018 Digital Summit and was visited by Chancellor Merkel. In addition to hosting a number of fascinating presenters, we will also be discussing artificial intelligence with innovation leaders from the worlds of politics, science, and the economy at our booth (E-113, hall 2.2).

This is the basis on which the joint solution of Thieme Compliance and RECOM is built: The mobile E-ConsentPro software and the care assessment and documentation tools of the digital patient file GRIPS were linked in such a way that they provide continuous support for the patient history interview process.
