Health meets IT: DMEA Newcomer Award invites entries

• Every year, the DMEA Newcomer Award honours the best graduate papers on digitalisation in the healthcare sector.

• From now until 21 February 2022 graduates can submit their entries at: www.dmea.de/newcomer-award

Digitalisation of our healthcare sector must be stepped up – the experience of recent months has shown that. It is why new ideas on how to successfully shape the transition are in demand. Once again, DMEA – Connecting Digital Health, Europe’s largest event for health IT – is providing a platform for these ideas and the brilliant minds behind them. This event is where next year the best graduate papers on the topic of digitalisation in the healthcare sector will be honoured again. The award will be presented in three categories: Bachelor’s, Master’s and People’s Choice. Prize money totalling 2,000 euros awaits the winners.

Who can apply?

The competition is open to graduates of any degree course who submitted their final university paper after 15 February 2021. The condition is that it examines a digital healthcare topic. The competition particularly welcomes papers which demonstrate practical relevance in concrete cases showing how IT can be used to achieve a long-term improvement in healthcare. The topics of this year’s award-winners included machine learning to predict cancer diseases and AR-assisted navigation in hospitals.

After the deadline for submissions a panel of experts representing the partners of DMEA will select the winners. These will receive their awards at DMEA 2022, which will take place from 26 to 28 April 2022 in Berlin.

Entries for the DMEA Newcomer Award 2022 can be submitted from now until 21 February 2022 at: www.dmea.de/newcomer-award
