DMEA 2021: A week of digital health comes to a close
Today the program of DMEA 2021 comes to a close. For the first time the formats of Europe’s leading event for digital health took place over an entire week, and as usual covered both current and forward-looking digital healthcare topics.
”Digitalisation will dominate tomorrow’s healthcare system – of that there can no longer be any doubt. We are proud that with this year’s DMEA we were once again able to provide a central platform for the digital transformation of the healthcare system. Our assessment now that the virtual DMEA has ended is positive. Building on our experience with DMEA sparks, we have been able to further expand the virtual format and give it an even more professional touch. I would like to take this opportunity to expressly thank Messe Berlin and our partners GMDS, BVMI, KH-IT and CIO-UK for their outstanding support and cooperation.
One thing is clear however: after the coronavirus pandemic we will be back with an in-person event. DMEA thrives on dialogue and discussions which can take place more freely and spontaneously face-to-face on the exhibition grounds. We therefore look forward to meeting up in person with the DMEA community in 2022“, said Sebastian Zilch, managing director of the German Association of Health IT Vendors.
DMEA on demand
Starting tomorrow, 12 June, DMEA 2021 will be offering services on demand, and from then until 12 September ticket holders can access a large number of programme items online.
Selected highlights will also be available on DMEA’s YouTube channel. Among them are the opening interview with Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn, keynote speeches on topics including telemedicine, the role of ordinary citizens in the digital transformation, and how the health sector can possibly help to overcome the climate crisis.
The virtual platform of DMEA is the place to go for all content.
DMEA is Europe’s leading event for health IT which gathers decision-makers from every area of the healthcare sector – including IT specialists, physicians, hospital and nursing care executives as well as experts from politics, science and research. Every year DMEA features a programme devoted to Newcomers and Careers, topics of major importance. In 2021 more than 4,000 users registered for DMEA, and every day around 2,500 took part in the programme events to find out more about the latest developments and products, acquire knowledge and establish important industry contacts. Over 150 companies presented their innovations. The next DMEA will take place from 26 to 28 April 2022 in Berlin.
DMEA is held by the German Association of Healthcare IT Vendors (bvitg) and organised by Messe Berlin. It is organised in cooperation with the following industry associations: the German Association of Health IT Vendors (bvitg), the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS), the German Medical Informatics Professional Association (BVMI). The National Association of Hospital IT Managers (KH-IT) and the Chief Information Officers of University Hospitals (CIO-UK) provide contributions on the subject matter.
