DMEA 2021: A week of digital health comes to a close

• DMEA took place in a virtual format from 07 to 11 June

• From 12 June to 12 September ticket holders can still access many program items online

• The next DMEA will take place as an in-person event from 26 to 28 April 2022 in Berlin

Today the program of DMEA 2021 comes to a close. For the first time the formats of Europe’s leading event for digital health took place over an entire week, and as usual covered both current and forward-looking digital healthcare topics.

”Digitalisation will dominate tomorrow’s healthcare system – of that there can no longer be any doubt. We are proud that with this year’s DMEA we were once again able to provide a central platform for the digital transformation of the healthcare system. Our assessment now that the virtual DMEA has ended is positive. Building on our experience with DMEA sparks, we have been able to further expand the virtual format and give it an even more professional touch. I would like to take this opportunity to expressly thank Messe Berlin and our partners GMDS, BVMI, KH-IT and CIO-UK for their outstanding support and cooperation.

One thing is clear however: after the coronavirus pandemic we will be back with an in-person event. DMEA thrives on dialogue and discussions which can take place more freely and spontaneously face-to-face on the exhibition grounds. We therefore look forward to meeting up in person with the DMEA community in 2022“, said Sebastian Zilch, managing director of the German Association of Health IT Vendors.

DMEA on demand

Starting tomorrow, 12 June, DMEA 2021 will be offering services on demand, and from then until 12 September ticket holders can access a large number of programme items online.

Selected highlights will also be available on DMEA’s YouTube channel. Among them are the opening interview with Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn, keynote speeches on topics including telemedicine, the role of ordinary citizens in the digital transformation, and how the health sector can possibly help to overcome the climate crisis.

The virtual platform of DMEA is the place to go for all content.
