Europe’s digital health industry meets at DMEA in Berlin

In just over two months, from 9 to 11 April 2024, DMEA, Europe’s leading event for digitalisation of healthcare, will gather digital health experts at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Around 700 exhibitors and 300 speakers from Germany and abroad will present their solutions and products for the future of digital healthcare.

From electronic patient files for everyone and the use of artificial intelligence to the digitalisation of care - from 9 to 11 April 2024, everything at the Berlin Exhibition Centre will revolve around the digitalisation of healthcare.

Federal Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Karl Lauterbach will open DMEA with a keynote speech. At last year’s opening he outlined a concrete timetable for digitalising the healthcare system. Enacting digital laws is now under way. DMEA 2024 will now focus on concrete implementation steps for digitalisation.

Trade visitors can look forward to a wide-ranging programme of congress lectures, workshops, seminars, discussions, pitches and presentations on the digital future of the healthcare sector. DMEA 2024 covers a wide spectrum of topics, including the utilisation of health data, digital strategies in hospitals, telemedicine apps, and opportunities for digitalisation in practices and medical care centres.

The website of DMEA provides regular updates on the programme of DMEA 2024.

From leading players to startups

Around 700 exhibitors will be represented at DMEA with their innovative solutions and products. In addition to leading players such as CompuGroup Medical, Dedalus, ID Information und Dokumentation im Gesundheitswesen, medatixx, Meierhofer, nexus AG and Telekom Healthcare Solutions, other major health sector companies and startups from Germany, Europe and Asia have secured their stands at DMEA. Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Flanders and Vallonia are all hosting their own national pavilions.

The exhibitors of DMEA 2024 can be found in the exhibitor directory.

As in 2023, DMEA is again organising an EEN matchmaking event. EEN stands for Enterprise Europe Network, the world’s largest information and consultancy network, which helps SMEs to gain a foothold abroad. Full details of the networking event can be found here.

Wanted: the digital health solution

In addition to the already well-known DMEA Young Talent Award for the best bachelor's and master's theses, the new DMEA nova Award will be presented for the first time at DMEA 2024. The award will recognise the most outstanding idea from a start-up in the digital health sector. Health IT start-ups can still apply for the new DMEA nova Award until 11 February. The most promising start-ups will compete against each other in several pitches. The most convincing idea or solution will be honoured with prize money of 2,500 euros. Full details of the DMEA nova Award can be found here on the DMEA website.

DMEA sparks: focus on finding newcomers

The topic of young talent and recruiting skilled workers will also be a major focus at DMEA 2024. Numerous universities, clinics and companies looking for new employees will present themselves under the DMEA sparks brand. Pupils, students and graduates can get to know their potential employer of tomorrow during speed networking, guided tours and young talent sessions.

Tickets to DMEA are available from the online ticket shop. As in previous years, students of all ages and university graduates can visit DMEA free of charge.
