About the jury member
Dr. Jörg A. Zimmermann studied medicine in Freiburg and Munich. After completing his doctorate and a two-year research stay at Cornell University in New York, he worked for several years as a physician in reconstructive and plastic surgery clinics.
Dr. Zimmermann has been working exclusively as an entrepreneur for over 25 years. In 1999, he founded a life science media company, co-founded PreisRoboter.de, and built up a PR agency for medical technology as its founder and CEO. His entrepreneurial activities were complemented by a mandate as a member of the supervisory board of Rösch AG Medizintechnik.
For around 15 years, Dr. Zimmermann has been focusing on the care market. His VC-financed company PflegeBox.de, founded in 2011, was successfully sold to Schülke & Mayr (EQT) in 2021. With Familiara GmbH, one of the first legal tech companies in the care market, he has been helping people in need of care and their relatives to enforce their fair care level since 2017.
As a business angel and coach, Dr. Zimmermann supports startups in the health and care market, contributing his experience in strategic marketing and the development of viable business ideas. In addition to his professional activities, he is considered a passionate connoisseur of classic European automobiles from the 1960s to the 1990s.
