DMEA 2026: Digitalisation in the political spotlight

    • Numerous federal and state ministers, including Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken, will be in attendance
    • Around 900 exhibitors will present solutions in the areas of AI, interoperability, care, health data use and data security
    • DMEA 2026: 21–23 April, Berlin Exhibition Grounds

The digital transformation of healthcare has long been a central topic in health policy: DMEA 2026 will once again put it at the centre of the health policy discussion from 21 to 23 April 2026 in Berlin. Numerous high-ranking political representatives have announced their participation in Europe's leading event for digital health.

The Federal Ministry of Health is once again acting as patron. Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken will give a keynote speech on the first day of the fair. In addition, Prof. Dr. Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider, Federal Commissioner for Data Protection, Judith Gerlach, Bavarian Minister of State for Health, Care and Prevention, and Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus, Hessian Minister for Digitalisation and Innovation, will also be represented at DMEA.

The political programme will be complemented by other participants from state politics, including Dr Andreas Philippi, Minister of Health of Lower Saxony, Jürgen Barke, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of Saarland, and Katharina Schenk, Thuringian Minister for Social Affairs, Health, Labour and Family.

In addition, DMEA 2026 will provide strong impetus beyond the political perspective with high-profile keynote speakers. These include paramedic and author Luis Teichmann, Philipp Westermeyer, digital expert and founder of OMR, physician and AI expert Dr Justus Wolff, as well as newsfluencer Fabian Grischkat and longevity expert Nina Ruge, who will bridge the gap between social expectations and health policy design.

Six core topics & key issues at DMEA

In terms of content, DMEA 2026 will address the key issues in digital healthcare: six core topics form the framework of the congress programme – from regionally networked care models, e-medicine and e-care, patient empowerment and resilient IT infrastructures to efficient processes and European framework conditions. Cross-cutting topics such as artificial intelligence, interoperability, cloud services, data security and the handling of health data run through all programme formats.

Innovation, practical application and international exhibitors

Parallel to the congress, around 900 exhibitors from Germany and around the world will be presenting their solutions and products. These include industry giants such as CompuGroup Medical, Dedalus, ID Information und Dokumentation im Gesundheitswesen, Meierhofer AG, medatixx, nexus AG and Telekom Healthcare Solutions. Start-ups and providers of digital health applications and mobile health will be presenting themselves in exclusive joint exhibition areas. DMEA thus remains the central marketplace for digital healthcare and a meeting place for politics, practice and innovation.

    Focus on young talent

In 2026, there will also be a special focus on young talent and innovation: in the DMEA sparks Careers Area, young professionals, students and graduates will have the opportunity to talk to companies, clinics and research institutions and get to know their potential employers of tomorrow. The DMEA sparks Award honours outstanding bachelor's and master's theses in the field of digital health, while the DMEA nova Award offers start-ups a stage for their innovative ideas.

Tickets for DMEA 2026 are now available in the online ticket shop.
