DMEA - Connecting Digital Health
21–23 APR 2026
  • Press Release

DMEA 2026 kicks off with outstanding digital health expertise on stage and in the exhibition halls

    • Around 900 exhibitors from Germany and abroad
    • A top-class programme featuring around 450 speakers from the worlds of politics, business and science
    • DMEA sparks and DMEA nova shine a spotlight on young talent and digital health start-ups

Sending a strong signal for digital transformation in healthcare, DMEA 2026 opens its doors today at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. As one of the leading events for digital health, it brings together decision-makers from medicine, politics, business and science to present innovations, exchange knowledge and actively shape the future of healthcare.

DMEA combines a trade fair, congress and networking platform under one roof: in six exhibition halls, around 900 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries will present their solutions – ranging from hospital and practice IT to telemedicine, artificial intelligence and IT security.

High-calibre conference programme with renowned speakers

A central element of the DMEA is its extensive conference programme. Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken is the patron and will deliver a keynote speech: “We will continue to drive forward digitalisation in the healthcare sector and achieve tangible improvements for people. The electronic patient record, as a central element of a modern healthcare system, will be further developed in such a way that its use becomes significantly more attractive for insured persons and service providers and facilitates access to care. With regard to the use of health data, digitalisation offers considerable potential to improve research, innovation and care. With the planned Act on Data and Digital Innovation in Healthcare, we are addressing precisely these issues and thereby ensuring, not least, greater efficiency in the healthcare system.”

In addition, experts from the digital health sector will highlight current opportunities and challenges posed by digitalisation. Among them: Judith Gerlach, Bavarian Minister of State for Health, Care and Prevention, Katharina Schenk, Thuringian Minister for Social Affairs, Health, Labour and Family, Prof. Dr Kristina Sinemus, Hessian Minister for Digitalisation and Innovation, the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Prof. Dr Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider and Dr Linda Bienemann, AI expert Prof. Dr David Matusiewicz and longevity expert Nina Ruge.

The programme is complemented by practical presentations in the Solution Hubs, on almost 50 guided tours, and in four seminars offering in-depth training.

Sascha Raddatz, Managing Director of bvitg: “The DMEA is not only a reflection of digital healthcare, but also the result of an extraordinary team effort. With a wide-ranging programme that encompasses political debates as well as concrete applications from healthcare practice, it creates the central venue where digital health policy takes shape – and where the course is set for the further development of our healthcare system.”

Dr Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin, says: “Digital transformation in healthcare can only succeed through collaboration – through close cooperation between politics, healthcare provision, science and industry. The DMEA brings these forces together and turns dialogue into real progress. Berlin, as a leading healthcare hub in Europe, offers the ideal setting for this: here, innovation, networking and implementation come together directly. Together with Federal Health Minister Nina Warken, who is the patron of the DMEA, we are sending a clear signal for the digital healthcare of tomorrow.”

    Focus on key future topics

DMEA 2026 sets clear thematic priorities on the industry’s pressing issues:

    • Artificial intelligence in healthcare
    • Digital patient care and patient empowerment
    • Interoperability and the European Health Data Space (EHDS)
    • Telemedicine and cross-sector care
    • Cybersecurity in healthcare

In doing so, the event addresses key developments that will transform healthcare in the long term.

The stage is set for innovations and start-ups

In the Startup & Innovation Area in Hall 5.2, more than 70 young companies will showcase new ideas and technologies. The most outstanding idea from a digital health start-up will also be honoured on the third day of the fair with the DMEA nova Award. Tomorrow, on the second day of the DMEA, the DMEA sparks Award will be presented to the best Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in digital healthcare and health IT.

    International networking and collaborations

DMEA offers excellent conditions for expanding national and international networks. Formats such as the DMEA Business Meetings 2026 organised by HealthCapital Berlin Brandenburg and the Enterprise Europe Network specifically promote new business relationships and collaborations between industry, research and healthcare. More than 380 participants from almost 40 countries have already registered.

Further information on the DMEA’s extensive programme, an exhibitor directory and the interactive hall plan can be found on the DMEA online platform.

Tickets for the DMEA are available exclusively via the online ticket shop. Discounted tickets are available for students and trainees.
