An entire week dominated by digital healthcare! With that in mind, early in June DMEA 2021 will be kicking off with a wide range of topics. This year, more than 100 program and partner sessions featuring lectures, discussions and other formats await visitors to Europe’s largest event for the health IT sector.

Six theme tracks provide orientation

In order to make it easier for users to choose individual items, the program again comprises six straight theme tracks which group topics under interests and key headings. The tracks are:

A quiz on Germany’s federal elections and sessions on digital health apps and digitalization in hospitals

This year, Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn will open DMEA again with a keynote speech. Health policy issues will also be the subject of the next item under the heading ’Who votes for digitalization?’. The quiz will take a look at the various goals and positions being staked out ahead of the federal elections.

Other highlights will include a keynote speech by Galia Barkai, head of the Telemedicine Innovation Hub at the Sheba Hospital in Israel, and a look back at the Hackathon #WirvsVirus under the aspect of open innovation. Other topics and events will include digitalization in hospitals in 2021, a year of key events, and an interim assessment after six months of digital health applications (DiGA).

Newcomers, webinars and guided tours

Individual program events will be available even before 07 June. Starting on 25 May, companies will hold virtual tours presenting their solutions and projects with a focus on 14 topics. Six webinars will provide detailed information on current topics, and on 27 May IT newcomers can find out more about careers in the healthcare sector.
